super sonic

When the seven Chaos Emeralds are collected in most Sonic games, Sonic can initiate a Super transformation into Super Sonic, a faster and invulnerable version of himself that can fly.[33] He can normally transform into Super Sonic with 50 Rings. While transformed, Sonic slowly loses Rings during the time he is in Super form (usually about one every second) and returns to normal when all the Rings are used up, usually incurring the loss of a life during a boss; the player can collect more Rings during this time to maintain Super form. Sonic is one of three characters to use the Super Emeralds which can give even more power than the normal Chaos Emeralds.                So far sonic has turned into super sonic a total of 8 (in a couple more issues 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)times in the comics.                      round 7&8
The last couple of fights for Super Sonic weren't easy ones, and neither were they total victories.

The rogue artificial intelligence, A.D.A.M., infested Tommy Turtle's shell with its nanites and took control of him .
Using Tommy as his host, A.D.A.M. made a plan that summoned every Chaos Emerald in the universe.
When Sonic came to stop A.D.A.M., the two of them made use of the emeralds and both turned "super."
Super Sonic was able to match the super-cyborg blow for blow until Tommy regained control of his body.
His last act was to fly into the crosshairs of the Egg Fleet, ensuring A.D.A.M.'s destruction - and his own.

Not long after, Knuckles was turned into Enerjak by Dr. Finitevus.
Sonic had to race, not just stop Enerjak, but even keep up!
Eventually, Sonic turned "super" off the Master Emerald and again met his chaos-infused opponent in epic battle.
But, as with Tommy, victory didn't come without sacrifice.
Locke gave up his life to break the hex that bound Knuckles to the Enerjak persona, allowing Super Sonic's power to set him free.
Sometimes, even Super Sonic can't do everything.
You can read both epic show-downs in the 2006-2008 Collector Sets!
We had to wait another two years  until we saw Super Sonic again  and when we did, it was strange.
Sonic had been flung across space in his efforts to save Mobius from an alien doomsday weapon.
He woke up on the planet of Thoraxia and was rescued by the kindly ant-like natives. The Thoraxians were plagued by a war-mongering, hornet-like race called the Bzzzz.
Sonic noticed a Thoraxian shrine with Red Chaos Emeralds. Insurmountable odds + innocents in danger + Chaos Emeralds = Super Sonic saving the day, right?
Sort of.

The Red Chaos Emeralds ended up splitting Sonic from his "super" persona. The powerful Super Sonic defeated the Bzzzz, but then went on a bit of a power-trip rampage.
Sonic barely kept him in check until the chaos energies ran out, and then the malevolent Super Sonic vanished, never to be seen again.
Keep your eye on the Sonic Store for when this classic story will be collected!
After his titanic clash with Master Mogul, we wouldn't see Super Sonic for over two years!
Dr. Eggman had unleashed the water spirit Chaos onto Station Square, and it had tapped into the emeralds powering the city. What could possibly stop Perfect Chaos?
...kind of a silly question given the theme of the week, huh?

With Tikal's help, Sonic transformed  and distracted the watery menace as the Freedom Fighters helped rescue the people caught in its wake.
With a little assistance from Knuckles, Perfect Chaos's power was neutralized and Station Square saved.

Dr. Eggman wasn't through, though.
He stumbled across the hidden resting place of Shadow the Hedgehog and unleashed him upon the world.
Sonic had a hard time keeping pace as Shadow gathered the Chaos Emeralds necessary to power up the Eclipse Cannon and doom Mobius.
A last-minute find by Rouge showed Shadow the error of his ways, but it was too late. The prototype of the ultimate life-form, the Biolizard, was awakened!
It fused with the ARK and tried to drag it down to Mobius. Instead, Super Sonic and Super Shadow defeated it and returned the ARK to its orbit.
You can catch snippets of that Sonic adventure in the Shadow Arc!
We didn't see any "super forms" for a while, but they finally came back with a vengeance in Sonic Archives vol. 15.
Mammoth Mogul had set his plan into motion: he had the Sword of Acorns, he had freed Enerjak, and the heroes were busy fending off the villain.
In one fell swoop Mogul took Enerjak's power for himself, conquered Angel Island, and sent the Triple Threat of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles to a pocket zone.(harsh!)

Mogul's plan was to one day use the three of them as his personal vanguard.
Thanks to Athair and the Ancient Walkers, however, the Triple Threat was rescued and managed to snag a bounty of rings on their way out.
Mixing those with Mogul's chaos energies got us one "super" battle!
It was Super Sonic, Hyper Knuckles and Turbo Tails all against the might of Master Mogul.
Never have we had such a clash of "super forms" before or since!
Our rounds of Chaos continues with the very first transformation of Super Sonic!
5-30-11 Super Sonic vs Universalamander.jpg
The very first time Sonic turned into the golden hero was in Sonic Archives vol. 1, thanks to your help. (That was you using the Genesis controller, right?
As Super Sonic he went up against the towering, nigh-unstoppable Universalamander, fighting it to a standstill until he thought of an alternative plan.

the next battle was against hyper knuckles!thier forms were so powerful they nearly warped time and space!only one emerald remained to complete knuckle's quest to protect the island.                                                                                                             mostly made by ian flynn.
